Investors and Business Men in the Republic of Iran have shown their interest to invest huge resources in the northern region. This follows the visit of the Northern Regional Minister, Hon Salifu Sa-eed to the country on April 20, 2018 to lure businesses and investment opportunities for the region. The Akuffo Addo administration since assuming office last year made known the need for government to partner with the private sector to build the Ghanaian economy.
The Minister together with some MMDCEs in the northern region traveled to Iran for an Investment Seminar. Mr. Sa-eed made a strong presentation on the strength and potentials of the northern region. He emphasize on Education, Health Care Delivery and Agricultural Development to the business community of Iran at the International Affairs Department of the Ministry of Health and Medical Education, Iran.
He also lauded the government of Iran for their support to the northern region over the years through the famous ARD project and the provision of scholarship packages. The Northern Regional Minister, Mr. Salifu Sa-eed further emphasized the need to strengthen the partnership and collaboration in these areas.
Meanwhile, for his part, the leader of the Iranian Team expressed their interest to invest in the area and thanked the government of Ghana for the confidence repose in them.
He assured the Ghanaian delegation that, Iranian investors and members of the business community are prepared to take full advantage of the huge opportunities in the northern region.
He disclosed that, the first batch of business men from Iran will visit the northern region in about two months time to conduct some feasibility studies.
The Hon Minister was accompanied by Ghana’s Ambassador to Iran, Alhaji Sayuti Yahaya Iddi, the Dean of MMDCEs in the northern region, Mohammed Hashim Abdallah and some DCEs in the northern region.
