Abdulai Alhassan, the Norther regional chairman of the Ghana Football Association has resign his position as chairman of the Northern Regional FA. The decition comes days after the expose’ of rot in the Football circles the country by investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas, which led to the resignation of the embattled boss of the Ghana Football Association, Lawyer Kwasi Nyantakyi .
This was made known at a press briefing in Tamale at the secretariat of the Northern Regional Football Association.
“I Abdulai Alhassan after careful reflection on my role and action in the recent Anas Aremeyaw Anas Expose, i have decided to resign as the Chairman of the Northern Regional Football Association”.
According to Abdulai Alhassan, his interest was to develop Ghana Football which led him to take the supposed investors to the President of the Ghana Football Association. He apologised to his family, freinds, the people whom he was elected to serve and the country at large.
“I hereby render unqualified apoloy to my family, freinds and the people I was elected to serve and the country at large. I also sincerely apologise to Mr. Kwasi Nyantakyi and all his sympathisers for being the person who led the supposed investers to him”.
Alhssan Abdulai who is affectionately called “Abu Imoro” who was flanked by his vice, lbrahim Kesi, was of the view that Ghana Football will get back to its feet from this controversy. Abdulai Alhassan is seen in public eye as brain behind the current predicaments of the former GAG President, Kwasi Nyantakyi.
Mr. Nyantakyi has since been banned by FIFA from all Footbal related activities both national and international for ninety (90) days.
