Yendi to have a Multipurpose Sports Complex

The people of Yendi will benefit from government policy initiative to build ten Multi-purpose Sports Centers of Excellence across the country. Yendi Municipality is previlage to benefit from the only allocation for the northern region.
This was made known at a sod-cutting ceremony in Yendi for work to begin in the construction of the Multi-purpose Sports Center of Excellence in Yendi.

The Minister of Youth and Sports, Hon. Isaac Esiamah disclosed that Yendi was very dear to the heart of the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo hence the siting of the project in Yendi.

“Ladies and gentle men, i’m proud to be here in Yendi, the land of rich culture, rich history, creativity and industry. Naa Chairman, we are hear at the direction of His Excellency the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, your President.
“He has sent us here to perform an important assignment, to construct a modern Multi-purpose Sports Center of Excellence for the people of the northern region to be situated in Yendi”.

Mr. Esiamah added that, the younger generation holds the future of this country and they have been part of government’s plan to craft a future for them.
“Young people as you are aware, are both the present and future so therefore, we need to craft a productive future for them”.
The Sports Minister hinted that, government is constructing ten Multi-purpose Sports Centers of Excellenceand work is progressing in almost all the places they visited across the country. He promise that, work would be completed on schedule since funding has already been secured.

The Northern Regional Minister on behalf of the chiefs and people of the region thanked the President for his visionary leadership and policy initiative that will go a long way to harness the youth into productive ventures.

“Our elders in Dagbong, northern Ghana tells us that, when you are too happy, you don’t have words to say again, so today, northern region, the seat of Gbewaa, we don’t have much words to express our selves again, we will reserve all our expressions and translate that into mobilizing our community members to come out in their numbers to support the contractor working here to make sure they work and deliver the work on time”.

The regional Minister thanked President Akufo-Addo for demonstrating bold and visionary leadership and policy interventions that will empower and create the future of the youth of this country.

The government under the leadership of President Akufo-Addo have initiated a policy of empowering the youth through sports and creative art by building in each region a Multi-purpose Youth Resource Center, to build the capacity of the youth in various disciplines.
The ceremony attracted chiefs, openion leaders, religious leaders and Youth in the Yendi Municipality.
